Students at The Culinary Institute of America were tasked with using a variety of Maruhon Sesame Oils to reinvent classic American dishes. The students utilized their creativity to prepare custom concepts that had never been seen before. Under the guidance of a CIA chef, the students refined their concepts and crafted high quality recipes. The students prepared these recipes during a cook-off at The CIA in Hyde Park, NY on October 29, 2018.
Students were judged on taste, creative use of sesame oil, personality and overall engagement, presentation, production and technical skill. Recipes included a Surf and Turf recipe, Chorizo Crusted Catfish with Marinated Shrimp, Chicken and Waffles, and a Cheesesteak Sandwich.
